In operation since 2012, Pound Paws became a registered Not for Profit in 2015, and in March 2019 a Canadian registered charity
(Réseau Secours Animaux Pound Paws)
Registration number 7152 8697 RR0001.
Our 100% volunteer-based organization is dedicated to saving animals urgently in need of rescue in and around the Montreal area. The vast majority of these animals are on death row in pounds, with deadlines of days or just even hours. Pound Paws acts as the intermediary between the pounds and a network of rescues that ensure the animals find good homes.
Often required to provide emergency veterinary care to animals arriving at the pound sick or neglected, Pound Paws is also occasionally obliged to provide temporary boarding for animals whose pound deadlines are up but who are still awaiting a rescue spot. Once a spot is secured, we then coordinate with volunteer animal transport groups to get the animals where they need to go, which is most often out of province.
Relying solely on donations and fundraising to cover our expenses, Pound Paws helps save literally hundreds of animals every year. All funds collected go directly to helping the animals.
Pound Paws is proud to be partnered with the volunteer animal transportation groups Freedom Drivers and Critter Cabs. Without their help, what we do would literally not be possible.
Every penny raised by Pound Paws or donated by our supporters is used to either pay veterinary or temporary boarding expenses.
If you’d like to help us save an animal’s life, donations will be gratefully received by e-transfer at email@example.com, or by using the PayPal button below.
Cheques can also be sent to the address on our ‘Contact’ page.
Receipts for income tax purposes will gladly be provided for donations of $20.00 or more (please ensure you include your mailing and email address).
Pound Paws’ efforts are financially supported through the sale of Karen’s Kritters. Made from socks (brand new of course!) and all her own designs, these fun and whimsical kritters are a great gift idea for adults and kids alike. Find them on Facebook at Karen’s Kritters – Les Kréatures de Karen.
